Honourable Chairs, Distinguished Delegates, and Esteemed Guests,

I am Meha Paul of year 13G. It is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome you all to DISMUN 2.7. I am truly honoured to serve in this year’s DISMUN conference as your General Secretary.

On behalf of the DISMUN team, I warmly invite students from DIS and all schools in Abu Dhabi to join us. DISMUN is open to everyone — no matter which school you attend or how much experience you have. It is a great way to explore global issues, learn new skills, and meet students from across the city.

Model United Nations is far more than just debates and formal procedures; it is a powerful platform that brings together people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Whether this is your first conference or you are an experienced delegate, every committee session offers a valuable opportunity to learn, challenge your own ideas, and grow both personally and intellectually. I encourage you to speak with confidence, listen with respect, and embrace the spirit of collaboration that lies at the heart of diplomacy.

Beyond resolutions and discussions, DISMUN is defined by the connections you build, the memories you create, and the friendships you form. These are the experiences that will stay with you long after the conference comes to an end.

We invite you to participate fully, support one another, and never hesitate to let your voice be heard. I am excited to see the passion, creativity, and diplomatic spirit you will bring to this year’s DISMUN 2.7.
