Dear Delegates of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees,
It is my great honour to welcome you all to this year’s DISMUN (Diyafah International School Model United Nations) as the Chair of UNHCR. My name is Dazlyn Pereira, and I am thrilled to serve as your Chair for this conference and take on this amazing journey alongside all of you. I have been an active participant in DISMUN for the past four years and was also entrusted with the role of a Working Committee member. The experiences I have gained through DISMUN over these years have helped me grow not only as a speaker but also as a person.
The UNHCR committee will focus on some of the most pressing global humanitarian issues, specifically those that affect refugees and displaced individuals. I am extremely grateful to be entrusted with such an important responsibility. As your Chair, I will ensure that every delegate feels respected, heard, and encouraged to take part in this conference.
I look forward to meeting each one of you and seeing the preparation and dedication you bring. I am confident that, together, we will make this year’s DISMUN a successful and memorable experience.
