Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

 Dear Delegates of ECOSOC,

It is both a privilege and a pleasure to welcome you all to this year’s Model United Nations conference as the Chair of the ECOSOC committee. My name is Amina Irfan of Year 12, and I am truly honoured to take on this role and share this experience with such passionate and talented delegates.

ECOSOC is a committee that goes far beyond formal debate. It challenges us to think critically about the social and economic issues shaping our world today while encouraging collaboration, diplomacy, and meaningful discussion. I am incredibly excited to hear the diverse perspectives, creative solutions, and thoughtful arguments that each of you will bring to committee.

In my role as Chair, my primary objective is to guarantee that every delegate feels valued, supported, and able to express their ideas freely. Whether you are new to this forum or a seasoned participant, I will endeavour to cultivate an atmosphere that is open, professional, and conducive to meaningful exchange. It is my earnest wish that this conference leaves you feeling inspired, with lasting memories and a strong sense of pride in your participation.
