Secretariat - ADMUN '21

Asmitha Yakkala

Secretary General

Asmitha is currently a 12th-grade student at Al Diyafah High School. She is a fiery MUNer, enthusiastic debater and a passionate advocate against the numerous social problems plaguing our world. She is a football fanatic, a basketball player for the school team. She has assisted in the school MUN club, familiarising the youngsters with the MUN procedures.

Her fascination with international politics, national policy, and social controversy fuelled her to participate in many MUNs, public speaking competitions & debates. She firmly believes that the calibre of any delegate lies in their research and confidence. Her advice to you: “Put your best efforts into research and supplement the rest with confidence.”

Krista Fidelia Fernantdez

Deputy Secretary General

Hi Everyone!! My name is Krista Fidelia and I’d like to describe myself as a passionate debater and an avid reader. Almost four years ago when I went for my first MUN conference I thought it was all so daunting but after having gone for multiple conferences since then, I have developed the love for MUNs and the sense of empowerment and importance it gives you.

MUNs have taught me the importance of being aware of the issues taking place in the world and I feel that it's our responsibility to speak up for those who are being silenced. I believe that the current youth can achieve great feats and must not shy away from speaking up for what we believe in and that MUNs serves as a great platform for this. Feel free to contact me if you ever have any queries, looking forward to having an engaging conference with all of you!!

Ayaan Lasheen

Deputy Secretary General

Ayaan is a AS-Level student, studying in Al Diyafah High School. With his symbiotic admiration for American politics, technology, design, model UN and gaming, his interests are rather diverse.
Ayaan's MUN journey began back in 2017 at DXBMUN, which he attended as an experimental endeavor that he expected to never return to, however, over time he grew fond of the formality, networking and unexpected fun he encountered.

Although faced with a hellish first experience, he was able to meet new people with each conference that guided him to reaching a fairly successful and greatly enjoyable MUN career.
As the Deputy-Secretary General of ADMUN '21, Ayaan intents to use this opportunity as a medium to introduce people to the awesome and rewarding world of model UN and show people that you can have a lot of fun whilst also being productive!

Mahek Bajaj

Director of Communications

Mahek Bajaj is currently an A level student and an aspiring wildlife veterinarian. She first stumbled across the world of MUN in the year 2018 when she participated in ADMUN 2.0 in the human rights committee as the delegate of Myanmar in the Rohingya crisis. This consequently sparked her interest in International Affairs (and getting targeted at public events)

Mahek joined her first MUN for extra credit but as it turned out, she genuinely enjoyed the heated discussions and fiery crisis that occurred during committee sessions, and the opportunity to present solutions to pressing real-world issues. She won the Best Speaker Award at her last MUN; ADMUN 2020.
From volunteering in hospitals to working at animal shelters, when she’s not ~collecting community service hours~, you can probably find her binge-watching the Ted Bundy tapes.

Ananya Nair

Director of Communications

Hi there!!! I’m Ananya, your walking-talking, human Siri for ADMUN '21! I am more than willing to click pause on Netflix, to reply to any questions, suggestions and problems you bring to me! I’ve always admired the concept of MUN’s and how young people set out, to prepare themselves to change the world. I strongly believe that change begins with discussions of important global issues and involvement in MUN’s.

I am absolutely thrilled to embark upon this interesting virtual experience with you, and I can’t wait to get in touch with you!

Muhammad Ali

First stepping into the world of Model United Nations conference in 2019, representing Burma at the security council, and being awarded ‘Honorable Mention’, was a huge success for me. The journey so far has been astonishing. Having a craze for technology and constantly learning new applications have been a highlight of my studying career.

While leading the group, from the student council to different project opportunities, has been one of my aims to excel in.
I am a huge fan of FC Barcelona and exploring new things is one of my hobby.  This ADMUN I have been appointed as the Director of IT and I mark it as a success of my Mun career. I believe that leadership roles must be taken to enhance all of your skills while being able to lead from the front can have a great impact on your life.

Muhammad Saif

Hey everyone! My name is Saif Nasir and I’m a senior at Al Diyafah High School. I first stumbled across the world of MUN in 2018 when I attended ADMUN 2.0. Ever since then MUN has brought countless opportunities for me to enhance my knowledge about political sciences and international relations.

I believe that MUN is an excellent way of being aware of world affairs that would have been overlooked otherwise. It is crucial for the growing youth to acquire essential skills that allow them to work as an integrate part of a team and come up with complex solutions to world problems and be inspired to cause a change to make this world a better place.
