Head Chair
Greetings Delegates, I would like to welcome you all to the Al Diyafah Model United Nations. My name is Fatma Ghayyour, Chair of United Nations Human Rights Council and this will be my 17th conference. MUN is a platform for all of you to develop your skills and have immense personal growth; it’s not just about winning. I hope that each and every one of you keep that in mind during committee session and leave all the controversies in committee.
From my personal experience, some of the happiest and proudest moments in MUN aren't necessarily been when I won an award.By being the Chair of UNHRC, I aim to encourage and empower every delegate in hopes of getting the best out of them. In the midst of all the heated debates, controversies and the seriousness, don't forget to have fun and make new friendships which may last a lifetime. I wish you all the very best and cannot wait to see you in committee.

“What we learn with pleasure, we never forget” – Alfred Mercier, this is what I aim to ensure the delegates of HRC feel by the end of the ADMUN conference. Hello, my name is Waleed Yousif and I am highly looking forward to being your Co-Chair of the Human Rights Council. I began my MUN career in 2016, attending my first MUN conference as an ambitious 12-year-old with a passion for politics. I remember being really nervous to speak before the committee, but I was highly encouraged by my amazing chairs and my fellow delegates.
Thanks to the support I received throughout my journey, I was able to grow into a competent delegate and public speaker with a wider perspective on global issues as well as new friends from across the globe.
ADMUN will be my first chairing experience so I promise to be the amazing chair that I had, by creating a suitable debate environment where I will support the newcomers to MUN and pushing the old-timers to their best. Now that I've bored you with MUN talk, I’ll conclude with some facts about myself. I like to run, play the guitar and shred it on the skateboard. Can't wait to see you all at ADMUN 2020!
