Head Chair
I am enthralled to welcome you all to the First General Assembly at ADMUN’22, as the head chair for this year’s conference alongside Eshal Ajmal!
As perhaps the first offline conference after 2 years of ‘practising’ diplomacy online, it thrills me, along with you, to witness, yet again, the joyful, professional and impactful chaos that MUNs once used to be.
From our own tranquil realities, MUNs serve as a deterrent to the harrowing dilemmas our world faces today: from climate change, to cybercrimes and nuclear proliferation. It develops us to be the epitome of a 21st century citizen: one that is mindful of the world around him and actively does his/her part in resolving it. As chairs at ADMUN, we strive to accomplish the same, together.
To the first-timers on board; we all are on the same boat, as most of us, if not all, have lost touch with physical MUNs and as such, you might find yourself as nervous as an experienced delegate. Being heard takes courage, and being courageous takes time and amiable effort along with occasional downfalls. You might have a wonderful speech that could evoke a thunderous round of applause, yet, when you reach the floor to speak, you find yourself short of words. In the words of Matthew Mcconaughey, “Do not fall into the trap. The entitlement trap, of feeling you are the victim. You are not,” so come back again: better.
“The dust you collect when you fall conjures the fiercest storm when you rise”
With that, I wish you all the best and a fruitful conference ahead!
Co-Chair
As they say 'Arguments are healthy cuz they clear the air,' and what better place to argue than a MUN platform.
Greetings, I am Eshal Ajmal a 10th grader at The Indian High School, Dubai. With a keen interest in gender and racial equality, I began doing MUN’s almost 3 years ago. Now, after delegating in many conferences, I am very excited to have this opportunity to chair at ADMUN'22.
My love for MUN conferences came from my desire to discuss and debate important global issues, especially those pertinent to basic human rights. As such, I look forward to chairing DISEC in this committee and hope to experience juicy and controversial debates. I eagerly hope to have a great and fruitful time, chairing this committee.
