Dear Delegates of the Security Council,
It is my absolute pleasure to chair the Security Council this DISMUN 2.6. My name is Sim Rui Ying, and I am currently in Y13. I've been participating as a delegate since the start of DISMUN in 2021, and this year, I am delighted to prove my abilities as the Chair for the Security Council. I look forward to making this a memorable experience for all of you.
The DISMUN (Diyafah International School Model United Nations) will simulate the environment of the UN, allowing you to test your debate skills when faced with real-world issues. You will develop a multitude of skills, such as cooperating with others, critical thinking, and problem resolution.
As your Chair, I will be responsible for ensuring the smooth proceedings of our committee; I will ensure that the schedule is followed as closely as possible, even in the event of any mishaps. Most importantly, it is my duty to ensure that all delegates are given a chance to speak. That is what I will uphold the most: Promoting equal opportunities to be heard.
I sincerely hope that all delegates of the Security Council will emerge with memorable experiences that will be carried on for years.
