Economic and Social Council

It’s an absolute privilege, to Chair the ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) council this year in DISMUN. I am Sahana Karthikeyan of 13G and it’s an honour to take on this role with you all participating as delegates. I have been an active participant at the annual DIS-MUN (Diyafah International School Model United Nations) since its commencement in 2021 and have also become a part of its working committee as of 2024. The ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) branch will particularly deal with debates related to pressing global economic issues.

As chair, I guarantee the cooperation of all delegates through the course of the MUN. I will warrant the smooth sailing of this event to the best of my abilities. Finally, it’s my promise to provide you all with an equal and just environment that allows you as delegates to voice your thoughts and concerns. In the rare case of any setbacks, it’s my duty to ensure the solving of it right away.

I eagerly await the commencement of this special event and harbor hopes of making this year’s MUN a memorable one for you all.
