ADMUN 2.4

Secretary General’s Compliments

Ananya Suresh Kumar

Greetings all!

It is my utmost pleasure to welcome you to the 6th edition of Al Diyafah Model United Nations. After hosting our most successful conference last year, on behalf of the entire Secretariat, we are delighted to announce ADMUN 2.4 with greater, newer committees and interesting agendas.

MUN is more than just a simulation of the United Nations. It is a way for people to express themselves. A way to voice for impact and advocate for change. It teaches various skills such as public speaking, debate, research, teamwork, and helps you develop it over the course of 3 exciting days. Most importantly, it keeps you informed about world issues and the news over different issues which people seem to be forgetting about as times progress.

Being in the MUN circuit for more than 4 years and seeing the immense talent out there, it tends to get competitive. As much as everyone wants to win an award, it’s not all about winning. The memories...the learnings...the skills...and of course, the new friends you make are all things that will stay with you no matter what. With that in mind, the theme of ADMUN 2.4 is Shifting gears for a sustainable and stabilized growth’  hopes to bind us in solving global issues.

It is my honor to serve as the Secretary General for this conference. Along with my team and myself, our goal is to ensure each, and every delegate has an unforgettable learning experience, and that you all enjoy and cherish MUNs like we do. Our secretariat is working hard to provide you all with the conference of a lifetime.

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’

Regards,

Ananya Suresh Kumar

Deputy Secretary General’s Greeting

Taman Thomas Abraham

Dear Delegates,

In a world where our newsfeeds are brimming with news of violence, crises and disasters, it is beyond question that the need to build harmony and stability, and most of all, hope, should be of utmost priority. The world is in need of newer solutions, newer institutions and newer policies. That is exactly what we will be exploring with our theme for this year, Shifting gears for a sustainable and stabilized growth.?

With major conflicts ongoing, such as the Russian-Ukrainian issue, rising tensions in the South China Sea, raging fires in Canada, and civil wars in Africa, it is beyond question that we as delegates take to our seats and advocate for our respective countries. Where unity is to prevail, dividing stances have taken their place. Where peace is to evolve, war is growing. While our voices are nothing but a whisper in global events, we can make it a roar in our ADMUN2.4.

Can you imagine the impacts of the ongoing forest fires in Canada? The devastating floods in Pakistan, Greece, and around the world? These occurrences have made us think…wonder…about our future sustainability. ADMUN will channelize these thoughts and questions into making pathways to answer these questions. From amidst the ashes left behind by the turmoil in our torn world, hope rises with ever-growing fervor.

This ADMUN is one you never can and never will forget, a conference where you can be a global voice, changing the way the world works and even taking on the giants of global politics, or even making some new friends along the way. With this, I take it with pride to invite you all with due hope and excitement to our ADMUN’24.

A conference of a lifetime.

Regards,
Taman Thomas Abraham

What is MUN?

MUN or Model United Nations is a simulation where students typically role play as delegates of different countries and discuss serious issues in the form of agendas. Delegates are placed in committees whose main goal is to come up with a resolution which addresses the problems set forth by the agenda. MUN carries a lot of value as it displays the abilities of teamwork, critical thinking, conflict resolution and diplomacy.

Having participated at MUN conferences shows that an individual has concern about ongoing issues in the global community and has taken the initiative to help themselves become better global citizens. It reflects a sense of proactive pragmatism and directed determination. Additionally, this credential is an exceptional addition to CVs for all sorts of applications, including those to university/college.
