Page 3 of 6 Behaviour on the Bus School Bus Behavior : Safe & Respectful Travel Our Commitment to Safety: Student safety is our top priority. We strive to provide a safe and enjoyable commute for every student. By following this code of conduct, students contribute to a positive and secure bus environment. We encourage parents to partner with us by reviewing these expectations with their children. Student Expectations: To ensure a comfortable and safe journey for everyone, students are expected to: • Be Punctual: Arrive at the designated bus stop on time to avoid delays. • Show Respect: Treat fellow students and bus monitors with courtesy and offer assistance when needed. • Prioritize Safety: Remain seated and fasten seat belts at all times. • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the bus clean by refraining from eating and littering. • Follow Instructions: Comply with the instructions of the bus monitor, especially during emergencies. • Limit Device Use: Mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices must be turned off and stored in bags while the bus is in motion. Bus Service Suspension: In accordance with RTA regulations, the school principal may suspend a student's bus privileges for any of the following reasons: • Persistent Delays: Repeatedly causing significant delays (more than three instances termly). • Safety Violations: Actions that compromise the safety and well-being of passengers. • Unauthorized Actions: Refusing to board at designated locations or exiting the bus without permission. • Recurring Misconduct: Accumulating three or more documented behavioral complaints within a school year. • Disrespectful Behavior: Consistent patterns of disrespect towards fellow students. Automatic Bus Suspension: The following actions will result in immediate suspension: • Disrespectful conduct towards the bus driver or monitor. • Physical harm to another student or staff member. • Bullying.
