Mindspark 2025 - Beautiful Chaos

Beautiful Memories Hazel sat on the bench, listening to the quiet breeze and the chirping birds. It was a peaceful morning. As she observed her surroundings, she couldn’t help but admire the beauty in all the chaos that was happening around her: birds were singing, leaves were swaying in the breeze, people were laughing, and dogs were barking. There were so many things happening at once, yet what she liked the most was a family having a picnic, oblivious to the world around them, their faces filled with smiles and happiness, enjoying their moment. Hazel smiled as she recalled all the memories and moments that filled up her life and made her who she was. She remembered learning how to ride a bicycle and the time she and her friends won second prize in a competition. She giggled as she remembered the time she had pranked her dad by scaring the living daylights out of him with one of her devious jump scares. But as she recalled more memories, she took a deep breath, and then another, as the memory of the car crash filled her mind, followed by the one where she stood at her parents’ graveyard, feeling so numb and broken like she knew she would never be the same again. Her expression became sadder as the memory of her sobbing hysterically, hugging herself in her bedroom, refusing to come out, filled her mind. She took another deep breath to steady herself. She refused to let herself go back to that dark place once more. But as she relived the memory, she noticed her friend open the door and walk in, looking concerned and worried. She sat beside the sobbing Hazel and hugged her tightly, repeating to her, “Everything will be okay. You’re not alone.” Hazel took yet another deep breath and hugged herself as more memories of her friends filled her mind. Kaelyn Audrey Fernandes 8C Full Story:
