                                            CURRICULUM INFORMATION

KINDERGARTEN

The kindergarten is a very important step in the ladder of the educational experience. The school aims to strike a balance between the natural and academic development of 3 – 5 year olds.
We ensure that our syllabus is:
    • Holistic
    • Child – Centered
    • Organized and Systematic

In the kindergarten years the foundation is laid for the basic skills like:
    • Listening
    • Speaking
    • Reading
    • Writing English
    • Number Concepts
    • Arabic 

The Holistic Education is an integral part of the syllabus providing learning opportunities in music & dance, art & craft, physical education & karate, computers, field trips and other optional activities. Programmes like Sing Along, Read Aloud, Choral Recitation, Show and Tell, Sports Day and the Annual Concert help to hone their social skills.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Primary school i.e. from Year 1 to Year 6 is focused on strengthening the children’s:
    • Language Skills (spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure etc).
    • Math Concepts
    • Science Concepts

At this stage the method of instruction aims to provide rich and stimulating experiences to foster learning. The various techniques used are:
    • Discussions
    • Experimentation
    • Field Trips

We also have various activities as part of the Holistic Education that encourages children to be better learners e.g. Mental Math, Spelling Bee, Elocution, Read aloud, Concerts, Sports & Physical Education

ASSESSMENT

The primary has a broad curriculum and it aims to prepare pupils for the IGCSE examinations. The main objective of the assessments is to measure the children’s understanding in the various subjects.
Assessments for the Years 3 – 6 will be based on total marks obtained in the:
    • Internal Assessments (chapter – wise tests, class work, home work and project work)
    • 2  Term Exams

SECONDARY SCHOOL

CURRICULUM

The Secondary School follows the British Curriculum and prepares students for the Cambridge IGCSE , AS AND A level examinations. The Medium of Instruction is English

Following is the scheme of subjects taught at different levels:

In accordance with the Ministry of Education regulations, Islamic Studies ( for Muslim Students) and Arabic, are compulsory subjects and form a part of the school curriculum at all levels. Social Studies is taught till Year 9.

    • Arabic is taught as both a first and second language
    • Hindi and French are offered as second languages

In Years 7 and 8, all students are offered the following subjects:

English Mathematics Science
Art Hindi or French Arabic
Islamic Studies( for Muslim Students)/ Value education Information Technology Social studies( History, Geography, Studies of the local environment)
